Red Dead On Pc
Red Dead Redemption 2 is without a doubt going to be one of this year’s most popular games. But one question continues to plague fans: Is the game coming to PC?
The answer to this question, at least for now, is no. For many fans, the idea of a PC version of a Rockstar game is always exciting, thanks to the fervent mod community and the enhanced visuals. The PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 look and perform better than the game’s standard versions, so Rockstar has clearly put in extra effort on the game’s visuals. All over Reddit, fans can be seen asking for a PC version of the game; even Devolver Digital got in on the fun on Twitter.
Calls from fans to put the Red Dead series on PC are nothing new. They started with Red Dead Redemption well over eight years ago. Tamil gun hd movies 2018. As cries for a PC version of the game from players who loved the mods and freedom of Grand Theft Auto 4’s PC version grew, the outcry eventually became its own joke. In fact, there’s even an entry for it on knowyourmeme.com.
Way back in 2011, Rockstar addressed the lack of the original Red Dead Redemption on PC, explaining:
We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans — that game of course being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it. All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) — we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms. Unfortunately for PC gaming fans, this hasn’t seemed to sway Rockstar. The company never brought Red Dead Redemption to PC, and has only announced versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There have been occasional hints about a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 (retail listings, a LinkedIn resume), but nothing official from Rockstar.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that the game won’t be released on PC at some point. In fact, the best evidence of this comes from Rockstar itself, whose last game, Grand Theft Auto 5, debuted on consoles on Sept. 17, 2013.
Almost a year later, in June 2014, the company announced that it would bring GTA 5 to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The PC port was eventually released in April 2015. This was more than a year and a half after the initial Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, and around six months after the game’s release on Xbox One and PS4.
This isn’t the only time a Rockstar game has arrived late on PC. Grand Theft Auto 4 took almost eight months to make it to PC, while L.A. Noire’s PC port came out about six months later than the console versions.
So, what does all this mean for Red Dead fans, desperate to get their hands on a PC version of the game? For now, it still doesn’t mean much. Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version. But at the very least, we know that just because it hasn’t been announced yet doesn’t mean it won’t come out. If you want to play the game anytime soon, though, the console versions are your best bet.
